Catapult
Our catapult is fabricated from a conventional wooden clothespin and a collection of wood parts found at the typical 'craft' store. This project works for grades 1 through college (no kidding!) since the performance analysis becomes more sophisticated for higher grades. Launches a jellybean 30 feet or a large table grape 15 feet.

See the catapult page . See the QuickTime video (6.8MB .mov file) or an mp4 video (7.4MB .mp4 file) that looks a little better. Both will stream if you have the QuickTime plug-in for your web browser available here.

Paper Chromatography
Chromatography is a simple technique used to separate mixtures into their components. We used it to see the individual compounds in different kinds of ink.

See the chromatography page .

Anaglyphs
An anaglyph is commonly called a 3D image and is viewed with 3D glasses consisting of two colored sheets of plastic film placed in front of the eyes.
Here are instructions for making your own anaglyphs with a digital camera and photo-processing software such as Photoshop, and some 3D samples.

See the mp4 video. At 12.2 MB, this is probably a file for those of you with broadband, but it will stream if you have the QuickTime plug-in for your web browser, available here.
